Background

In 1987, the Eastern Municipal Water District (EMWD) and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) entered into a Water Supply Project Agreement that established terms and conditions for EMWD to provide recycled water to the San Jacinto Wildlife Area, including financial terms for the construction of a recycled water pipeline and associated infrastructure necessary to provide recycled water. The original agreement term was 25-years, and since 2014, the agreement has been annually extended while CDFW completed its Land Management Plan. The Land Management Plan defines existing and potential future recycled water demands which will be considered as EMWD and CDFW establish an updated recycled water agreement. The presentation will summarize the key findings of the Land Management Plan with respect to recycled water demands and on-going coordination between EMWD and CDFW.
