Background
The District’s Geographical Information System (GIS) maintains details about the District’s in‑ground assets, service linkages, and is a rich source of information for hydraulic modeling and conservation studies. With the replacement of the District’s legacy GIS system in 2016, staff recognized that many capabilities inherent to the new GIS platform presented significant opportunities to better leverage our GIS data.
In November of 2018, the Board of Directors (Board) approved a GIS master plan contract with Psomas to assess and make recommendations that will ensure District resources are aligned and appropriately committed to maximize value and also to develop a lifecycle plan for managing and maintaining the District’s GIS.
This presentation highlights the 30 months of activity leading up to our Master Plan effort and recognizes the incredible contributions of a venerable team of professionals and unwavering support from the Board and senior executive team.
